Volunteer at UNBROKEN

Events like Unbroken only happen because of great volunteers. Whether you can spare a few daylight hours or a stint through the night, there's a role for you — and a front-row seat to one of the friendliest events on the trail calendar. Our volunteers are the heart of the event, creating a welcoming atmosphere, supporting participants and helping deliver an unforgettable experience for every runner, supporter and family member.

Where Volunteers Help

Whether you have experience with trail events or simply enjoy being part of an active outdoor community, there are a variety of roles to suit different interests and availability.

  • Registration & Check-in: Welcome participants, assist with event check-in, distribute race packs and provide information to runners before they head to the start line.

  • Course Marshals: Guide runners along the course, monitor key intersections and help ensure participant safety while providing plenty of encouragement.

  • Aid Station Crew: Support runners at aid stations by preparing food and drinks, refilling hydration supplies and helping participants stay fuelled and motivated throughout the event.

  • Relay Transition Zone: Manage the team changeover area, assist with the smooth flow of runners and help maintain an exciting atmosphere as teammates complete each lap.

  • Start & Finish Line Team: Celebrate every achievement by welcoming runners across the finish line, presenting medals and assisting with post-race activities.

  • Event Village Support: Help create a vibrant festival atmosphere by assisting with camping enquiries, information services, venue presentation and general event operations.

  • Course Set-up & Pack-down: Assist with installing course signage, fencing, marquees and event infrastructure before the event, and help return the venue to its original condition afterwards.

  • Parking & Traffic Support: Direct participants and spectators safely into designated parking areas and help maintain smooth vehicle movement around the venue.

What you get

All volunteers will be provided with an Unbroken technical shirt and have the privilege of giving back to the trail running community. There is no greater way to support the Unbroken event than to give some of your time and be involved in supporting participants to achieve their goals for the event.
